Dec. 11

I loaded the book cart with 5 days worth of requests and was able to give out 24 Bibles today. For the first time since I have been in Texas I even gave a Bible to a deputy. Wow, what power going out.  Praise God!  I have been thinking all day about last night.  I usually don’t watch the news but it was on before we went to bed and I heard a dear brothers name.  I looked up and saw a clip of him in court and heard he was sentenced to 40 years in prison.  Watching it on TV made it so much more personal to me.  In five years of prison ministry I have never felt that feeling.  My heart hit the floor in almost a frantic kind of way.  All I could do is pray laying in bed wile sleep was detained.  I saw him and today I didn’t feel like his chaplain but just a hurting friend.  We prayed and quoted some scripture to each other but for the most part we just talked.  He has never been in jail before and I believe in my heart that he is an exceptionally good man that made one big mistake.  He smiled in the Spirit and I could tell it didn’t shake his faith at all.  One of the things he said was that he is looking forward to what God has for his future.  Wow, what faith the Lord has given him.  I go to be a blessing and sometimes I feel like I get blessed more than I ever could be a blessing to these men.  God is so awesome.
