We are excited about how the Lord is working in our lives and the lives of inmates in  El Paso and New Mexico.  Please feel free to look around and makes comments. Our prayer is that God blesses your heart and moves you  to become part of this ministry in prayer and or financial support.

Thank you and may God richly bless you today,  Chaplain Lenny

Hello Church Family,
One morning at the Otero County Prison in New Mexico, I sat in on a prayer circle with 5 inmates. We enjoyed some donuts and coffee, then we prayed and sang some songs together. Afterwards we went around the circle asking the question “Can you share any moment when you have known that Christ’s presence was with you?” Each of the inmates took turns sharing and when it was my turn, I shared how the night before I was talking to an inmate at the jail and was lead to share a story of my past. My unplanned story ended up being one that he was able to connect with, which helped him deal with a severe anger problem. I testified to the prayer circle that it was surely Jesus’ presence and not mine that helped the brother.

The inmate sitting next to me I have known for about six months. He is a lean medium to
small build man around 60 years old. His countenance has always stood out in my mind because he has a constant scowl on his face, but not one of anger. One that looks like he is really tired of the immense emotional pain he has been through in his incarceration. He shared that the reason he missed our meeting last month was because he was wrongfully accused of inciting a riot and was put in lock-down solitary confinement for a month. He said that it’s hard being alone and not talking to anyone for a month, but that this time it was different. He shared that he could feel Jesus’ presence, His love, His plan for his life more than he ever has before, and that how he wasn’t alone because Jesus was with him. He shared that he has been in prison for sixteen years and in two more years he will be going home and that the 30 days in isolation was probably the greatest preparation to be released that he has gone through since he has been in prison. That he was glad the Lord put him in there. Wow what a testimony! At that moment we all said how we could really feel Christ’s presence with us. We prayed thanking God that He will never leave us or forsake us and His grace is sufficient.

Praise God! I go into the prison to be a blessing and when I leave I feel I am the one blessed
the most. Thank you church family for your prayers and financial support that allows me to there for these men.

I was in the word, prayed with and baptized three of the most joyful men that you have ever seen tonight.  I love my Job.

I picked up and inmate that was released from jail this morning.  He was one happy man with a small bag of possessions.  I noticed his well-worn King James version Bible that I gave him about six months before that he specifically asked for.  We ate breakfast at the Golden Corral and had some time in prayer and the word before I took him to the Bus Station so he could go home to San Diego to be with wife and kids.  Prayers please.

I took a pizza to a released inmate’s home for dinner.  He is locked down to his home after work with a transponder on his ankle. The parole board makes it hard on these men.  But he is seeking the Lord always as he did in prison. He is doing awesome with a job, car, and a place to live. The model released inmate.  He is an exception.  Please pray for him and other released inmates that they will continue to walk with victory in Jesus.

I responded to an inmate request to see a minister at the jail.  The deputy brought him into the program room and introduced myself and opened in prayer.  I asked him how he was doing and he remained silent.  I asked how his relationship with God was and he just stared at me.  I asked how his prayer life was and still no response.  I said I can imagine how hard it is being alone here and we don’t have to talk we can just sit together, I’m here for you.  After about 15 minutes with a few short one sentence prayers I read a chapter in Psalms.  Afterwards I closed in prayer thanking God for the time we shared and said to him that I enjoyed being with him and told him I would come see him again.  I acknowledged the Deputy that we were done and the inmate was taken silently back to his cell. I believe God did work in this young man’s life today.

To God be the glory for the things He has done in 2015

Last year was a year of vision and new beginnings. The Lord has not only moved in the hearts of inmates but also the hearts of individuals to minister to inmates in corporation with Behind Prison Walls Ministry. The Lord has also used us to minister to more inmates that have re-entered the society

  •  Lenny prayed with over 50 men to receive Christ as their Lord and Savior.
  • 87 Bibles were given out to inmates.
  • God opened the door to minister in two new areas.
The Sanchez Unit (prison) lock down area.
The Southern New Mexico Correctional Facility (prison) lock down area.
  • Ministry being multiplied
We brought into the jail and prison 2 new ministers this year.
Shared the word and prayed with many officers.
The Lord brought 6 released inmates to minister to.
  • Lenny baptized 26 and served communion to 104 inmates.
  • Ongoing one-on-one discipleship ranging from 15-35 inmates at a time.
  • 4 men committed to seek ministry positions when they are released.
  • 11 men signed up for Bible College correspondence courses.

We know you have been blessed for your investment in the kingdom through our ministry together, we have been working hard to make it a wise one. Thank you for the prayers and financial support. Together let us move forward into 2016 and broaden our ministry influence and reach more and more inmates for Jesus Christ.

I had lunch with a released inmate.  We got into the word and prayed some.  He has a lot of challenges in probation, they don’t make it easy.  He has been to church and is eagerly looking for a job and is excited about his new life.  Prayers please.
